Almost exactly 32 years ago, I had to get some teeth taken out in preparation for getting braces later in the year. I was eight years old at the time. I don't remember how many Dr. Rafoth extracted, but the one I do remember was the right premolar bicuspid (see here for an illustration). It's that time again. That is, time for me to do the happy dance and say, quite proudly, that I just finished writing a novel. Again. It's a really good feeling. So I did something last night. I finished a novel. Sure, it's just the first draft, and there are two more books after this to write (they're all part of the same big story), but still, it felt good to get to that point. So tonight I reached a milestone in the writing of my book, having reached the end of Part One of Book One (of three). As of tonight, I'm at 46,634 words, which comes out to 86 single-spaced pages in Microsoft Word. I have no idea what that would look like if it were printed out in an actual book-like form, how thick it would be and such. But ( Read more... )
